Inger Dag Steen
Inger Dag Steen (née Inger Dag; 22 March 1933 – 22 November 2019) was a Norwegian textile artist and politician for the Socialist Left Party. Biography Steen was born in Kristiansand on 22 March 1933 to architect Ragnar Dag and Dagny Fosby. She married sculptor Knut Steen in 1957. She was elected representative to the Storting from the constituency of Vestfold for the period 1989–1993. Kristiansand is a seaside resort city and municipality in Agder county, Norway. Vestfold Politicians
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration was located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. With the exception of the city-county of Oslo, Vestfold was the smallest county in Norway by area. A county council ( no, Fylkesting) is the highest governing body of a county municipality (''fylkeskommune'') in Norway. The county council sets the scope of the county municipal activity. The council is led by the Chairman of the County Council, more commonly called a County Mayor (''fylkesordfører''). Members of the council are elected for a four-year term through the general local elections. Knut Steen
Knut Steen (19 November 1924 – 22 September 2011) was a Norwegian sculptor. Steen lived in Sandefjord for most of his life and dedicated works such as the Whaler's Monument to the city. Many of his sculptures may also be seen at Midtåsen Sculpture Park, a park dedicated to Steen at the former villa of Anders Jahre in Sandefjord. Biography Steen was born in Oslo, Norway. He was the eldest of four siblings born to Johannes Steen (1895–1983) and Jenny Charlotte Huseby (1895–1976). As a young child, he suffered from tuberculosis before he underwent major lung surgery in 1951. He entered the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry (''Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole'') in 1944 and the following year at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts (''Statens kunstakademi''). Vestfold County Municipality
Vestfold County Municipality ( no, Vestfold fylkeskommune) is the regional governing administration of Vestfold county in Norway, after the county was re-established in 2024. The county municipality was earlier established on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Vestfold was merged with the neighboring Telemark county, creating the new Vestfold og Telemark county which was led by the Vestfold og Telemark County Municipality. Sandefjord () is a city and the most populous municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The municipality of Sandefjord was established on 1 January 1838. The municipality of Sandar was merged into Sandefjord on 1 January 1969. On 1 January 2017, rural municipalities of Andebu and Stokke were merged into Sandefjord as part of a nationwide municipal reform. This merger was the first one to take place during the reform.
