Inge Johansen
Inge Johannes Tjernes Johansen (21 May 1928 – 5 December 2018) was a Norwegian electrical engineer and academician. Career Johansen was born in Gjerpen to an electrician and a homemaker. He took the sivling. degree, and in 1957, the dr.techn. degree. From 1959 to 1985, he was a professor of high-voltage technology at the Norwegian Institute of Technology. From 1975 he was the deputy rector, from 1976-84 he served as rector, and from 1985-89 was the director of the NTNF. In 1990, he returned to academia as a professor of ''elkraftteknikk''. He chaired the Statoil board from 1984 to 1987 but resigned together with the rest of the board members after they lost control over spending in the Mongstad project. Johansen contributed to the establishment of Kathmandu University, for which a university building was named after him: the Prof. Inge Johansen Engineering Block. Kathmandu University (KU) ( ne, काठमाण्डौ विश्वविद्यालय) is a public autonomous university in Nepal. Jan Erik Langangen
Jan Erik Langangen (born 11 May 1950) is a Norwegian businessperson and lawyer. He was born in Porsgrunn as a son of Sigurd Langangen (1918–1973) and Lilly Auen (1919–1990). He graduated with the siv.øk. degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in 1973, and then took the cand.jur. degree at the University of Oslo in 1975. He was hired in the same year as a consultant in Statoil, and headed the economy and finance department from 1979. He remained here until 1983. He was then the deputy chief executive of ''Storebrand-Norden'' from 1983, and advanced to chief executive officer in 1985. From 1986 to 1988 he chaired the Association of Norwegian Insurance Companies. His company merged with UNI in 1991, creating ''UNI Storebrand''. After the Skandia raid in 1991–1992, when UNI Storebrand bought shares in Skandia without acquiring control over the company, and the shares later plummeted, Langangen was forced to leave Storebrand. Finn Lied (12 April 1916 – 10 October 2014) was a Norwegian military researcher and politician for the Labour Party. He was particularly known for work on the establishment of the Norwegian state oil company Statoil. His effort to ensure that a large part of the revenues from the oil industry that explored the petroleum deposits under the Norwegian continental shelf was taxed by the Norwegian state was of great importance. Career Finn Lied studied electrical engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim when Norway was attacked by Nazi-Germany in 1940. Lied fled to Sweden in 1941 and worked for one year with the Norwegian Military Attaché in Stockholm before he went to the United Kingdom. Dag Kavlie
Dag Kavlie (born 14 April 1939) is a Norwegian shipping engineer. He was a professor and rector (1984–1990) at the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and later worked for the Research Council of Norway. Career He was born in Oslo, and took the siv.ing. degree at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1963. He then spent a year as a conscript in the Royal Norwegian Navy, took the doctorate in ship construction at the Institute of Technology, studied at the University of California at Berkeley before entering the shipping sector. In 1972 he took the Ph.D. degree. He then returned to academia, being hired as a lecturer at the Institute of Technology. In 1976 he was promoted to professor. From 1980 he was the deputy rector of the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and from 1984 to 1990 he served as rector. Deputy rector during this period was Kjell Egil Eimhjellen. Johannes Moe
Johannes Moe (born 24 April 1926) is a Norwegian engineer and research administrator. He was born in Modalen, and graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1952. He was appointed professor at the Norwegian Institute of Technology from 1962 to 1976, and from 1972 to 1976 he served as rector of the institute. From 1977 to 1989 he was appointed director of SINTEF. He served as president of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences from 1993 to 1999.
