Inge Fænn
Inge Fænn (born 1945) is a Norwegian editor, journalist, and author. He is from Markane in the municipality of Stryn. Fænn worked as a journalist for the newspaper ''Fjordingen'' and he managed the branch office for the newspaper '' Sunnmørsposten'' in Stryn before serving as the editor of ''Fjordingen'' from 1996 to 2005. Fænn was a member of the main committee for the Norwegian Skiing Championship in Stryn in 1996, and he served as the head of the Sogn og Fjordane Skiing Association ( no, Sogn og Fjordane Skikrins). Fænn has coauthored books on the Hotel Alexandra and the soccer player Tore André Flo (''Flo United''), and in 2005 he published ''40 år med buss frå Vest'' (40 Years with Buses from Vest). He is also the coauthor of the book ''Skåla – fjellet og folket'' (Skåla: The Mountain and the People, 2011). In 2014 he published the book ''Anders Svor. Bilethoggaren frå Hornindal'' (Anders Svor. Stryn
Stryn is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Stryn. The municipality is located along the innermost part of the Nordfjorden. Some of the main villages in Stryn include Loen, Innvik, Utvik, Randabygda, Olden, and Flo. Farming, forestry, fruit growing, animal breeding for furs, small manufacturing industries, tourism, and the service trades provide the main occupations. The wide river Stryneelva enters the village of Stryn from the east after meandering through the fertile Stryn Valley, from the large lake Oppstrynsvatn. The Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre is situated on the shore of this lake. Fjordingen
''Fjordingen'' is a Norwegian newspaper, published in Stryn in Vestland county. It was named ''Innfjordingen'' from 1928 to 1929. It started on 14 September 1928 as ''Innfjordingen''. The first editor Nils Hertzberg was a sympathizer of the Fatherland League, but the newspaper had no clear political allegiance. It furthermore went bankrupt after a year, but continued from 4 November 1929 with the name ''Fjordingen''. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany a Nazi editor Bernhard Dippner was forced upon ''Fjordingen'' in 1941, before the newspaper was stopped in January 1942. The printing press was also taken away. After the war, the newspaper had some problems getting a new printing press and owner, but it resumed with a trial issue on 18 December 1945, first ordinary issue on 4 January 1946 and ownership by the Conservative Party from 1948. ''Sunnmørsposten'' () is a newspaper published by Polaris Media in Ålesund, Norway. History and profile In its early days, ''Sunnmørsposten'' competed with several other local newspapers, including '' Aalesunds Avis'' (1917–1957), '' Aalesunds blad'' (1871–1895), ''Aalesunds Handels- og Sjøfartstidende'' (1857–1904), ''Aalesunds Socialdemokrat'' (1908–1910), and ''Arbeidernes blad'' (1898). Hotel Alexandra (Stryn, Norway)
Hotel Alexandra is a historic hotel in the village of Loen in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. History The hotel was opened by Markus Anders Loen (1862-1927) under the name ''Loen's Hotel'' in 1884, but since 1892 has been in continuous operation under the name ''Hotel Alexandra''. The hotel is named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark. The hotel, which overlooks the Nordfjorden, has undergone several minor and major developments and changes over the years, but stands today as a modern family-tourist and conference hotel. The hotel is part of a group that also owns the neighboring hotel Hotel Loenfjord. There is currently fourth and fifth generation of the same family running it. Tore André Flo
Tore André Flo (born 15 June 1973) is a Norwegian former professional football striker and coach who is the manager of 1. divisjon club Sogndal. He was capped 76 times, scoring 23 goals for Norway, and represented his country in 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000, and scored Norway's first goal when Norway won 2–1 against Brazil and advanced to the second round of the 1998 World Cup. During his professional career, he played for Sogndal, Tromsø and Brann in Tippeligaen, before he moved abroad and played for Chelsea. After a successful spell with the English club, he was sold to Rangers for £12 million and became the most expensive Norwegian player. Anders Svor
Anders Svor (December 14, 1864 – May 2, 1929) was a Norwegian sculptor. He was a realist influenced by Romanticism, and Auguste Rodin was also an important inspiration. His work was also part of the sculpture event in the art competition at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Life Svor was a farmer's son, the child of Rasmus Kristofer Svor (1835–1914) and Ragnhild Svor née Seljeset (1834–1902). He was born and raised at the Svor farm in Hornindal. Already as a boy he showed unusual abilities in wood carving, which would be the start of his artist life. At the age of 17, he traveled to Kristiania (now Oslo), where he began as a woodcutter at the Hals Brothers piano factory.
