Background and recording After the release of ''Ghost Eater'', the band met with Chris Owen ( Breather Resist, Coliseum, Ed Gein) to help make the band's debut studio album. ''Infinite Carcass'' was intended to be a full-length, and then accidentally wasn't due to the songs being short. "We'd be like, 'This song is done... sh*t, it's only a minute long,'" recalls Watt. Girlfight (band)
Girlfight was an American hardcore punk band formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 2008. The group consists of: Vocalist Dave Watt, guitarist Jordan Bellotti, bassist Richie Lattanzi, and drummer Brandon Volkman. After the band's creation, they signed into Emerald Moon Records and released their debut EP ''Haggard'' (2008). Two years later they'll release their second EP ''Ghost Eater'' (2010) and soon their debut studio album '' Infinite Carcass'' (2010). Girlfight then release their third EP ''Defamate'' (2011) and were dropped from Emerald Moon Records in late 2011. The band signed into Mayfly Records and released their fourth EP ''Real Spite'' (2012). The band officially disbanded in April 2013. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Mathcore
Mathcore is a subgenre of hardcore punk and metalcore influenced by post-hardcore, extreme metal and math rock that developed during the 1990s. Bands in the genre emphasize complex and fluctuant rhythms through the use of irregular time signatures, polymeters, syncopations and tempo changes. Early mathcore lyrics were addressed from a realistic worldview and with a pessimistic, defiant, resentful or sarcastic point of view. In the 1990s, the hardcore punk scene started to embrace extreme metal openly. It also started to become highly ideological, with most of the popular bands being part of subcultures. Breather Resist was an American hardcore punk band from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 2002 and dissolved in 2006. They take their name from the song “Breather Resist” by Hoover. History Breather Resist formed in 2002 and recorded 8 songs, 4 of which were on handmade demos. These 8 songs became their first EP, "Only in the Morning", released on Deathwish, Inc. Their first LP, ''Charmer'', was released on Jade Tree Records in October 2004, having been produced by Kurt Ballou. Ed Gein was an American grindcore band, based in Syracuse, New York. The band consisted of Graham Reynolds (guitar, vocals), Aaron Jenkins (bass, vocals) and Jesse Daino (drums, vocals).
