Indy Grand Prix Of Louisiana
The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana was an IndyCar Series race held at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana in 2015. The only race held in 2015 was plagued by heavy rain, which turned much of the facility in a quagmire. Qualifying was cancelled, and the race was shortened with most of the laps run under caution. After the race, legal disputes erupted involving the promoter, the track, and other related parties. The event was a huge money-loser, and attracted only 10,000 spectators, in part due to the poor weather. Despite an initial three-year contract, the event was cancelled after only one running. This was the first major auto race held in the New Orleans area since the Grand Prix du Mardi Gras took place on the streets around the Louisiana Superdome as part of the 1995 IMSA GT Championship. James Hinchcliffe
James Douglas Meredith Hinchcliffe (born December 5, 1986) is a Canadian race car driver and commentator best known for competing in the IndyCar Series. Hinchcliffe won six races for Andretti Autosport and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. In 2015, his first year driving for Schmidt Peterson, he suffered life-threatening blood loss when he was impaled in a crash when his suspension failed while practicing for the Indianapolis 500. He would recover and win the pole position for the following year's race. In 2016, he appeared on season 23 of the ABC series ''Dancing with the Stars'', finishing in second place. The 2015 Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana was the second round of the 2015 IndyCar Series season, and the race took place on April 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the NOLA Motorsports Park. The race was won by James Hinchcliffe for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. Hélio Castroneves finished second for Team Penske. James Jakes finished third ahead of Simona de Silvestro, and Juan Pablo Montoya. The top finishing rookie in the race was Gabby Chaves, in 15th position. The 2015 Indianapolis 500 was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Sunday May 24, 2015. It was the premier event of the 2015 season of the Verizon IndyCar Series. 1995 IMSA GT Championship
The 1995 Exxon World Sports Car Championship and Supreme GT Series seasons were the 25th season of the IMSA GT Championship. It consisted of open-cockpit prototypes referred to as the World Sports Car (WSC) class and Grand Tourer-style racing cars divided into GTS-1 and GTS-2 classes.
