Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture () ( sd, انڊس ويلي اسڪول آف آرٽ اينڊ آرڪيٽيڪچر) is a not-for-profit degree awarding institution in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The university was established in 1989, thereby empowering it to award its own degrees and was the fourth private institution of higher learning in Pakistan to be given a university status. As of 2008, IVS was the third highest ranking art and design university in Pakistan. The degrees offered include a 5-year degree program in Architecture and 4 year degree programs in Interior design, Interior Design, Textile design, Textile and Communication design, Communication Design, and Fine arts, Fine Arts. Shahid Sajjad (born 1936 Muzaffarnagar, British India) was a Pakistani sculptor. He died on July 28, 2014, in Karachi, Pakistan. His work continues to influence subsequent practitioners of these genres across Pakistan. Life Sajjad was born in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, in 1936. Shahid Sajjad was a self-taught sculptor who began his career in advertising in 1955; a path that led him to become art director at an advertising agency in Karachi. Shahid traveled through South-East Asia, the Middle East and Europe on a motorcycle between 1960 and 1963. His first one-man show was held at the Karachi Arts Council in 1964. During a trip to Paris, his encounter with a single wood carving by Gauguin at the Louvre convinced him that this was what he must do. Agha Hasan Abedi
Agha Hasan Abedi ( ur, ), (14 May 1922 – 5 August 1995) was a Pakistani banker and convicted felon who founded Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) and saw its collapse after one of the biggest banking fraud scandals in history was unearthed. Before his death, he was convicted by the United Arab Emirates court for fraud and was sentenced for eight years in prison. Abedi also founded United Bank Limited.
