The website publishes film and book reviews as well as other entertainment features. The website is edited by Swapna Tom Mangatt. Indulekha is the first Keralan website to enter the ''Limca Book of Records'' after its exhibition of the complete works of Jnanpith Award winner M T Vasudevan Nair. Held between 18 April – 19 May 2006, the exhibition was the first of its kind in the history of Indian internet. Visitors were able to read selected pages from each of the books and leave their comments on the works. Infotainment (a portmanteau of ''information'' and ''entertainment''), also called soft news as a way to distinguish it from serious journalism or hard news, is a type of media, usually television or online, that provides a combination of information and entertainment. Malayalam Language
Malayalam (; , ) is a Dravidian language spoken in the Indian state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry (Mahé district) by the Malayali people. Jnanpith Award
The Jnanpith Award is the oldest and the highest Indian literary award presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to an author for their "outstanding contribution towards literature". Instituted in 1961, the award is bestowed only on Indian writers writing in Indian languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India and English, with no posthumous conferral. From 1965 till 1981, the award was given to the authors for their "most outstanding work" and consisted of a citation plaque, a cash prize and a bronze replica of Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge and wisdom. M T Vasudevan Nair
Madath Thekkepaattu Vasudevan Nair (born 1933 July 15 ), popularly known as MT, is an Indian author, screenplay writer and film director. He is a prolific and versatile writer in modern Malayalam literature, and is one of the masters of post-Independence Indian literature. At the age of 20, as a chemistry undergraduate, he won the prize for the best short story in Malayalam at World Short Story Competition conducted by ''The New York Herald Tribune''. His first major novel '' Naalukettu'' (''Ancestral Home''- translated to English as ''The Legacy''), written at the age of 23, won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958. Vaikom Muhammad Basheer
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer (21 January 1908 – 5 July 1994), popularly referred to as Beypore Sulthan, was a writer of Malayalam literature. He was a writer, humanist, freedom fighter, novelist and short story writer, noted for his path-breaking, down-to-earth style of writing that made him equally popular among literary critics as well as the common man. His notable works include '' Balyakalasakhi'', ''Shabdangal'', ''Pathummayude Aadu'', ''Ntuppuppakkoranendarnnu'', ''Mathilukal'', ''Janmadinam'' and ''Anargha Nimisham'' and the translations of his works into other languages have earned him worldwide acclaim. Balachandran Chullikkad (born 30 July 1957) is an Indian poet, orator, lyricist and actor in Malayalam-language. Early life Balachandran was born in Paravur, Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
