Indu Bhushan
Indu Bhushan is a former Indian bureaucrat and economist. He was the first CEO of Ayushman Bharat, an Indian government agency providing national healthcare coverage to the low-income population of the country. Education and career In 1983 Bhushan received B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU) and Postgraduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Bhushan graduated with a doctorate in economics and a master's degree in health science from Johns Hopkins University. From 1983-92, Bhushan served as an Indian Administrative Service officer in the Rajasthan cadre before taking voluntary retirement. From 1994-96 he was with the World Bank. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The interface facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer (P2P) and person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions. It is used on mobile devices to instantly transfer funds between two bank accounts. The mobile number on the device is required to be registered with the bank. The UPI ID of the recipient can be used to transfer money.
