Indrek Taalmaa
Indrek Taalmaa (born 9 July 1967) is an Estonian stage, television, voice, film actor, and theatre director whose career began in the early 1990s. Early life and education Indrek Taalmaa was born and raised in the town of Viljandi. He graduated from Viljandi Secondary School No. 4 in 1985. In 1986, he entered the Drama School of the Tallinn State Conservatory (now, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre), but was conscripted into the Soviet Army and spent two years deployed to Afghanistan during the Soviet–Afghan War. Career Stage Indrek Taalmaa has had a prolific career in theatre, beginning with a two-year engagement at the Ugala Theatre in Viljandi in 1991. From 1994 until 1999, he was engaged at the Rakvere Theatre in Rakvere. From 1999 until 2006, he was engaged at the Vanemuine in Tartu, until leaving for the Endla Theatre in Pärnu, where he is still currently engaged. Viljandi
Viljandi (, german: Fellin, sv, Fellin) is a town and municipality in southern Estonia with a population of 17,407 in 2019. It is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe. The town became a member of the Hanseatic League at the beginning of the 14th century, and is one of five Estonian towns and cities in the league. The once influential Estonian newspaper '' Sakala'' was founded in Viljandi in 1878. Symbols The flag of Viljandi is bi-coloured, its upper part light blue and lower part white. ''August 1991'' is a 2005 television dramatization of a failed Soviet attempt to suppress the Singing Revolution independence movement in Estonia. At the same time as the events unfold in Estonia, a 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt is taking place in Moscow. Tanks roll through the streets of Estonia, attempting to crush the fledgling democracy and assert Soviet authority. Written and directed by Ilmar Raag for Estonian Television, the film focuses on the role of a newly defiant and independent Estonian media. In spite of a low budget and sometimes wooden acting, the film is seen as an effective, moving portrayal of Estonian independence. ''Georg'' is a 2007 biography drama film about Estonian singer Georg Ots. It was directed by Peeter Simm and written by Mati Põldre and Alexander Borodyansky. They used interview material from Georg Ots' second wife Asta Ots. The film stars prominent Estonian actor Marko Matvere, Russian actress Anastasiya Makeyeva and Latvian singer Renārs Kaupers. The film was released in Estonia on 5 October 2007. ''Georg'' was made together by Estonia, Russia and Finland and it runs approximately 105 minutes. Elmo Nüganen (born on date 15 February 1962 in Jõhvi) is an Estonian theatre director, film director, and actor. He has been the artistic Director of the Tallinn City Theatre since 1992. He was a graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 1988 and then a professor at the academy in 1998–2002 and 2008–2012. TV3 is a commercial television channel targeted at an Estonian language audience owned by Providence Equity Partners. History It was founded in 1996 after two recently established television stations, EVTV and RTV, were merged. TV3 has two sister channels. TV6 is a television channel targeted at entertainment television channel in Estonia, launched in 2002. TV8 is an entertainment television channel, launched as a digital sister channel to TV3 in 2009.
