Indore–Dahod Line
The Indore - Dahod railway line of the Western Railway Zone is an under construction public transit system in the state of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. It will connect Indore with Dahod on Mathura–Vadodara section. This line will reduce the distance between Indore and Dahod by 100 km. History The Project was allocated in 2008 but the work on the line started very late has 8 tunnels to be built. The later number of tunnels was reduced to three as of April 2019. The cost of the Indore-Dahod railway line is 1643 crores this may increase as per requirements as Railways have set a targeted to complete the Indore - Dahod Line project by 2022 as of now 11 years had passed 50 percent work of the work has not been completed. Rail transport in Madhya Pradesh began in the year 1867 when Allahabad–Jabalpur branch line was opened in June 1867. The Etarsi to Jabalpur section was opened on 7 March 1870 by GIPR, linking up with EIR track at Jabalpur from Allahabad, and establishing connectivity between Mumbai and Kolkata. In 1903, with the introduction of Delhi-Chennai rail route through the state and Bhopal Junction railway station, the state got a good rail connectivity. Indore Junction (station code: INDB) is one of the Railway junctions in Madhya Pradesh and serves Indore, the commercial capital of Central India. Chhota Udaipur–Dhar Line
The Chhota Udaipur–Dhar line is a railway line under construction from Chhota Udaipur railway station to Dhar railway station. It is a part of Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. This corridor passes through the ranges of Chhota Udaipur Hills in Gujarat and Sondwara Plateau in Madhya Pradesh. It will play an important role in directly connecting Vadodara and Indore and also it's a joint project of Indore–Dahod line. It will put Dhar first time on the railway line. The Akola–Ratlam rail line is a railway line in India linking Akola in Maharashtra with Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. History The Akola–Ratlam metre-gauge line was opened in 1963. Dahod
Dahod is a city on the banks of the Dudhimati River in Dahod District in the State of Gujarat, India. It is said that it has taken its name from Saint Dadhichi, who had an Ashram on the bank of Dudhumati river. The city serves as District Headquarters for Dahod District. It is from Ahmedabad and from Vadodara. It is also known as ''Dohad'' (meaning "two boundaries", as the borders of the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are nearby).
