Indonesia–Palestine Relations
Relations between Indonesia and Palestine have been very close and friendly. Indonesia has refused to recognize the State of Israel until a peace agreement is reached between Israel and the State of Palestine. Indonesia has strongly stood up for the rights and freedoms of the Palestinians and has supported the struggles of the Palestinians. History Palestine was one of the earlier supporters of Indonesian independence in 1945. Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Supreme Leader of the Council of Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Amin al-Husaini was credited to raise other Arab states recognition of Indonesia, particularly through Arab League. They also agreed to pressure the British whose troops had arrived in Indonesia ahead of the Dutch, not to support the Dutch. Embassy Of Indonesia, Amman
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Amman ( id, Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Amman; ar, سفارة الجمهورية الإندونيسية عمان بالمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية،) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The embassy is concurrently accredited to the State of Palestine. The first Indonesian ambassador to Jordan was Zainul Yasni (1985–1988). The current ambassador, Ade Padmo Sarwono, was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 25 October 2021. History Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Jordan were established in 1950. However, the Indonesian embassy in Amman was only opened in 1985. Bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine were established on 19 October 1989. Mahmoud Abbas ( ar, مَحْمُود عَبَّاس, Maḥmūd ʿAbbās; born 15 November 1935), also known by the kunya Abu Mazen ( ar, أَبُو مَازِن, links=no, ), is the president of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian National Authority. He has been the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization ( PLO) since 11 November 2004, PNA president since 15 January 2005, and State of Palestine president since 8 May 2005. Indonesia Hospital ( ar, المستشفى الإندونيسي, translit=al-Mustashfá al-Indūnīsī, id, Rumah Sakit Indonesia) was a hospital located in Bait Lahia, North Gaza Governorate, Gaza Strip, Palestine. Facilities The hospital had 100 ward beds, 4 operating theaters, and a 10-bed intensive care unit. The hospital had 400 staff members employed by the Health Minister of the Gaza Strip, and several volunteers from Indonesia. History Construction Construction of the hospital began in 2011 on 16,000 square meters of land donated by the government of Gaza. The project cost IDR 126 billion and was funded by donations from Indonesian people and organizations such as the Indonesian Red Cross Society and Muhammadiyah, collected through the Indonesian humanitarian organization Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C). Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi (born 27 November 1962) is an Indonesian diplomat who has been serving as the Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Joko Widodo since 2014. She is the first female minister appointed to the post. She was previously the Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands from 2012 to 2014, as well as Ambassador to Iceland and Norway from 2005 to 2008.
