The Indonesia national football team ( id, Tim nasional sepak bola Indonesia) represents Indonesia in international Association football, football. They were the first Asian team to participate in the FIFA World Cup, particularly in the 1938 FIFA World Cup, 1938 edition as the Dutch East Indies national football team results, Dutch East Indies. The 6–0 loss to eventual finalists Hungary national football team, Hungary in the first round remains the nation's only appearance in the World Cup. Thus, Indonesia holds the World Cup records as the team with the fewest matches played (1) and one of the teams with the fewest goals scored (0). Garuda Pancasila
The national emblem or coat of arms of Indonesia is called ''Garuda Pancasila''. The main part is the Garuda with a heraldic shield on its chest and a scroll gripped by its legs. The shield's five emblems represent '' Pancasila'', the five principles of Indonesia's national ideology. The Garuda claws gripping a white ribbon scroll inscribed with the national motto ''Bhinneka Tunggal Ika'' written in black text, which can be loosely translated as "Unity in Diversity". ''Garuda Pancasila'' was designed by Sultan Hamid II from Pontianak, supervised by Sukarno, and was adopted as the national emblem on 11 February 1950.
