Indonesia International
The Indonesia International is an international badminton tournament, which is held annually in Indonesia since 1997. It is organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia. Since 2007, it is graded as the International Challenge, which are level 4 badminton tournaments. Since 2014, there are two different level 4 tournament: International Challenge and International Series which held in two different cities. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. George Rimarcdi
George Rimarcdi (born 1 March 1975) is an Indonesian-born Swedish retired badminton player. He represented Indonesia at the 1992 World Junior Championships, clinched a silver medal in the boys' singles event, and in 1997 he won a men's singles title at the Indonesia National Championships. He moved to Sweden since 1999, competed in the national event for Uppsala team. Rimarcdi won five Swedish National Championships titles, four in the singles, and once in the doubles events. After ending his career in Sweden, he returned to Indonesia and started a career as a coach in Exist club. He is currently a men's single coach for Indonesian national pratama (junior) team. Endra Mulyajaya
Endra Mulyana Mulyajaya (born 11 April) is an Indonesian former badminton player, who now works as a badminton coach. Trained at the Tangkas club, he clinched the boys' doubles titles at the Dutch and German partnered with Hadi Saputra in 1996, and also settled a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Silkeborg, Denmark. In 1998, he won the mixed doubles title at the Jakarta International tournament partnered with Angeline de Pauw. Together with Saputra, he finished as a semi finalists at the World Grand Prix tournament 1999 Thailand Open. Andreas Nova Widianto (born 10 October 1977) is an Indonesian former badminton player. He is currently the Indonesia national team mixed doubles head coach. Career Nova Widianto is considered one of the greatest doubles player in his era. He is known for his superb movement on court and versatility to be paired with various players. Widianto specialized in mixed doubles. He enjoyed some international success with Vita Marissa, winning the Badminton at the Southeast Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games in 2001, the Asian Badminton Championships in 2003, and the Japan Open (badminton), Japan Open in 2004. However, his greatest success came from a partnership with Lilyana Natsir. They have been one of the world's two or three leading teams. Bambang Suprianto
Bambang Suprianto (born 20 February 1969) is a retired badminton player from Indonesia. Career A durable all around player who won singles at the Singapore Open in 1991, Suprianto's greatest success came in doubles events. In the mid-1990s he and fellow countryman Rudy Gunawan formed one of the world's leading men's doubles teams. They won several top tier international titles, including the 1994 All-England Championship, but could not quite keep pace with countrymen Rexy Mainaky and Ricky Subagja who became the decade's most successful pair. Suprianto was a member of Indonesia's world champion Thomas Cup (men's international) teams in 1994, 1996 and 2002. After Rudy Gunawan's retirement, Suprianto focused on mixed doubles and continued his high level of play by winning international titles with a variety of partners. Vita Marissa
Vita Marissa (born 4 January 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. Career Marissa competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in mixed doubles with partner Nova Widianto. They had a bye in the first round and defeated Robert Blair and Natalie Munt of Great Britain in the second. In the quarterfinals, Marissa and Widianto lost to Jens Eriksen and Mette Schjoldager of Denmark 15–12, 15–8. In September 2008 Marissa and her new partner Muhammad Rijal won in mixed doubles at the Japan Super Series after beating Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir 14–21, 21–15, 21–19 in the all Indonesian final.
