Indio River
The Indio River ( es, Río Indio) is a river of Vega Baja and Morovis in Puerto Rico. Indio River has mogotes on either side. Indio River meets Cibuco River. The river is quick to rise and causes flooding when there is heavy rain. Paso del Indio An important archeological site, Paso del Indio, is located on the west bank of in Vega Baja. Discovered when a highway was being built, it contained artifacts and bones carbon dated to 2580 b.c. Morovis Norte
Morovis Norte is a barrio in the municipality of Morovis, Puerto Rico. Morovis Norte has about 15 sectors and its population in 2010 was 3,546. History Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the population of Morovis Norte barrio was 821. (Red Bridge) at kilometer 50 on PR-155 and over the Indio River in Morovis Norte, leads to the expressway and to Morovis barrio-pueblo, the downtown area with the municipal buildings and a number of stores. It is a bridge that was built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1913. In June 2020, it was closed for repairs. The municipalities of Puerto Rico (Spanish: ''municipios de Puerto Rico'') are the second-level administrative divisions in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Cibuco River
The Cibuco River ( es, Río Cibuco) is a river of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Part of the river goes through Vega Alta and Corozal municipalities. It is 23.75 miles long. Cibuco River meets Indio River. The river flooded up to 15 feet during Hurricane Maria in some neighborhoods and as late as 2019, the river floods when rains are heavy.
