IndigenousX is an Australian Aboriginal owned and operated independent media company founded in 2012 by Gamilaroi man Luke Pearson. History and description IndigenousX began as a rotating Twitter account showcasing diverse Indigenous Australian experiences and perspectives. Kath Viner, then head of Australian digital operations of ''Guardian Australia'', approached IndigenousX with an opportunity to collaborate with ''The Guardian''. The account has been called "one of Australia's leading online platforms featuring true representations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices", and highlighted for its influential role in public debate and the example it sets in the evolution of news media. Briggs (rapper)
Adam Briggs (born 28 August 1986), who performs as Briggs and self-describes as Senator Briggs (although not a member of the Australian Senate), is an Indigenous Australian rapper, record label owner, comedy writer, actor, and author. Briggs became well known as a "solo rapper", signing with Golden Era Records in 2009, before co-founding the hip hop duo A.B. Original in 2016. As a solo artist, Briggs has released one EP, ''Homemade Bombs'' in 2009, and two albums, 2010's ''The Blacklist'' and 2014's ''Sheplife''. Celeste Liddle (born 1978) is an Indigenous feminist (Arrernte), unionist, and writer who lives in Melbourne, Australia. Aboriginal Australians are the various Indigenous peoples of the Australian mainland and many of its islands, such as Tasmania, Fraser Island, Hinchinbrook Island, the Tiwi Islands, and Groote Eylandt, but excluding the Torres Strait Islands. Australian Aboriginal culture includes a number of practices and ceremonies centered on a belief in the Dreamtime and other mythology. Reverence and respect for the land and oral traditions are emphasised. Over 300 languages and other groupings have developed a wide range of individual cultures. Due the colonization of Australia under terra nullius concept these cultures were treated as one monoculture.
