Indian Creek is a stream in Cape Girardeau County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River.''Ware, IL,'' 7.5 Minute Topographic Quadrangle, USGS, 1947 (1990 rev.) The stream headwaters arise at approximately one-half mile south of Pocahontas just east of Missouri Route C at an elevation of approximately 590 feet. The stream flows southeast and then east passing under and then flowing parallel to Missouri Route 177 to its confluence with the Mississippi at at an elevation of 338 feet. The stream forms the northern boundary of the Trail of Tears State Park just prior to its confluence. Indian Creek took its name from the Shawnee Indians in the area. Indian Creek is a stream in Franklin and Washington counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Meramec River. The stream headwaters are in Washington County on the north flank of Little Pilot Knob northwest of Potosi and it meanders north passing under Missouri Route 185 and past Pea Ridge. It passes under Missouri Route A and enters Franklin County passing west of the Indian Creek Conservation Area to its confluence with the Meramec southeast of St. Clair near the community of Piney Park. Indian Creek is a stream in Newton and McDonald counties of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of the Elk River. The headwaters are in Newton County at and the confluence with Elk River is at . The stream starts at the confluence of North and South Indian creeks just east of Boulder City and flows southwest into McDonald County. It flows past the communities of McNatt and Erie and under U. S. Route 71 and Missouri Route 76 just southeast of Anderson. The stream turns south and flows parallel to Missouri Route 59 past Lanagan to its confluence with the Elk River about midway between Pineville and Noel. At Lanagan, the creek has a mean annual discharge of 231 cubic feet per second. Indian Creek was named for the fact American Indians had settled near its course.
