India Inclusion Summit
The India Inclusion Summit (IIS) is the earliest of the initiatives started by the India Inclusion Foundation. The first IIS was held on 3 December 2012 in Bangalore (now Bengaluru). Beginning as a community-driven platform to create awareness about disability, it blossomed into an annual, entirely volunteer-driven extravaganza held every November in Bengaluru. The spirit of IIS is captured in its catchphras“Everyone is Good at Something”and in its credo “No egos, no logos.” Its foundeV.R. Ferose speaking about the Inclusive India Dream at IIS 2014, described IIS as “an event that is built, owned, executed, driven by the community.” IIS brings together thought leaders and unsung heroes from the field of disability and inclusion to deliberate, discuss, and drive change in our society. The Arjuna Award, officially known as Arjuna Awards for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games, is the second-highest sporting honour of India, the highest being the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The award is named after Arjuna, one of the characters of the Sanskrit epic ''Mahabharata'' of ancient India. He is the main protagonist of the epic. Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla is an international para athlete from India. She was awarded Arjuna award and Padma Shri for her achievements. She was born on 6 July 1958 in kota, Karnataka, India. Ani Choying Drolma (born 4 June 1971), also known as Choying Dolma and Ani Choying (''Ani'', "nun", is an honorific), is a Nepalese Buddhist nun of Tibetan origin and musician from the Nagi Gompa nunnery in Nepal.
