India competed at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, from 22 October 2023 to 28 October 2023. Due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event was postponed and rescheduled to October 2023. India had its best ever medal haul beating the India at the 2018 Asian Para Games, previous best medal haul of 72 achieved at the 2018 Asian Para Games, crossing the 100 medal mark for the first time in history. Neeraj Yadav (born 10 February 1984) is an Indian Paralympian and javelin thrower. He primarily competes in discus,shotput and javelin at Asian Para Games in the F55 category. He won Gold at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia and defended it at the 2022 Asian Para Games. Background Yadav hails from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He suffered paralysis and was diagnosed with neural damage at age 7. His father was a wrestler and a volleyball player. He got married in 2018. The 2022 Asian Para Games, also known as the IV Asian Para Games (), and commonly known as the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Para Games, is a multi-sport event that parallels the 2022 Asian Games which will held for Asian athletes with disability in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from 22 to 28 October 2023.
