Azerbaijan Republic
Azerbaijan (, ; az, Azərbaycan ), officially the Republic of Azerbaijan, , also sometimes officially called the Azerbaijan Republic is a transcontinental country located at the boundary of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is a part of the South Caucasus region and is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia (Republic of Dagestan) to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west, and Iran to the south. Baku is the capital and largest city. Agdash Rayon
Agdash District ( az, Ağdaş rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the centre of the country and belongs to the Central Aran Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Yevlakh, Shaki, Oghuz, Qabala, Goychay, Ujar, Zardab, and Barda. Its capital and largest city is Agdash. As of 2020, the district had a population of 111,100. Overview Agdash city was established in the 16th century located at Arash on the silk road. Ali Ismayilov (born May 8, 1974) is a boxer from Azerbaijan and the current WBO Latino Cruiserweight champion. Amateur Ismayilov won the bronze medal at light heavyweight at the 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Houston, Texas. Ali Bayramli
ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia and Sunni groups. Alazani
The Alazani ( ka, ალაზანი, az, Qanıx) is a river that flows through the Caucasus. It is the main tributary of the Kura in eastern Georgia, and flows for . Part of its path forms the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan, before it meets the Kura at the Mingəçevir Reservoir. The river is likely the same as that referred to by classical authors Strabo and Pliny as "Alazonius" or "Alazon", and may also be the Abas River mentioned by Plutarch (Plut. ''Pomp.'' 35) and Dio Cassius (37.3) as the location of the Battle of the Abas (65 BCE). The Alazani originates in the Greater Caucasus, south of the main ridge, in the northwestern part of the Akhmeta District. Alakbar Rezaguliyev
Alakbar Rezaguliyev (31 January 1903 in Baku, Baku Governorate – 31 January 1974 in Baku) (alternative spelling: Alekper Rzaguliyev) ( az, Ələkbər Rzaquliyev; russian: Алекпер Рзакулиев) was an Azerbaijani artist. He was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1964). Early life Alakbar was born in Baku, into the large family of a small businessman-shopkeeper. Although there were no artists in his family, Rezaguliyev showed artistic talent at an early age. Ajami ibn Abubakr Nakhchivani ( az, Əcəmi ibn Əbubəkr Naxçıvani) was a 12th and 13th-century Muslim architect who contributed greatly to the architecture of Nakhchivan. Agsu District ( az, Ağsu rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the east of the country and belongs to the Mountainous Shirvan Economic Region. Agstafa
Agstafa ( az, Ağstafa) is a town, municipality (assigned in 1941) and the capital of the Aghstafa District of Azerbaijan. Agstafa district was established in 1939, abolished in 1959 and merged with Gazakh district, became an independent district again in 1990 History Historical reference books of Agstafa indicate that the city appeared in the second half of the nineteenth century, essentially built as a new town around the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi railway.
