Independence Park is a sports and cultural complex in Kingston, Jamaica built for the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. It houses a variety of sports facilities. Independence Park, officially Park #83 of the Chicago Park District, is a recreational area in the Irving Park neighborhood of North Side, Chicago, Illinois. First opened in 1914, the park has been the traditional location of Independence Day celebrations for Irving Park residents since 1903. Independence Park (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Independence Park is a 24-acre urban park at 300 Hawthorne Lane situated at the western end of the Elizabeth neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. The park was created in 1924 at the urging of Charlotte industrialist Daniel Augustus Tompkins, founder of the ''Charlotte Observer'', and is the oldest public park in Charlotte. It is scheduled to reopen in October of 2022 after being closed for renovations that enhance accessibility and add permanent restrooms, among other improvements. Independence Park is split into two sections by Hawthorne Lane. Both sections lie below street level which gives the park a secluded and tranquil atmosphere, despite the fact that the site commands excellent views of the Charlotte skyline. The lower park contains a winding path, a rose garden, large, leafy trees, a reflecting pond, and a gazebo. McCullough Park is a park located in the Independence Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally called Independence Park but was renamed by the city of Houston after its acquisition of Houston Heights in 1929. Its NRHP nomination states: "Independence Park is the only public space remaining from the early years of Independence Heights. In 1910, the Wright Land Company set aside some eight lots in the northeast portion of the subdivision for a community park and named it Independence Park. Independence National Historical Park is a federally protected historic district in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that preserves several sites associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history. Seodaemun Independence Park ( ko, 서대문독립공원) is an educational and cultural park located in Hyunjeo-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, South Korea.
