Kingston Collection
Kingston Collection is a one-story enclosed upscale shopping center and mall located in the South Shore region of Massachusetts in the United States. As of January 2022, The mall features 37 stores and restaurants. Anchor stores include Macy's, Target and HotDoogy. History The Kingston Collection opened in 1989 in Kingston. Originally named the Independence Mall, the original anchors to the mall were Filene's, Filene's Basement, JCPenney, Sears, and Hoyts Cinema. On December 5, 2011, construction began on a brand new, 58,000 square foot Regal Cinemas 14 complex, to replace the original, out-of-date Hoyts Cinema. On November 20, 2013, plans for a drastic renovation of the mall were announced, and would include changing the entire exterior facade, an interior face-lift (including tile work, new paint coatings, and renovated restrooms), plush soft seating areas with free Wifi, new stores and dining options, and a larger selection of stores overall. Independence Center
Independence Center is a super-regional shopping mall located in Independence, Missouri. Anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods and Dillard's with two vacant anchors last occupied by Macy's and Sears. History The mall opened in 1974. Its three department stores were Macy's, Sears, and Stix, Baer & Fuller's. The mall featured a unique three-level central atrium, with a series of ramps and stair risers traversing the expanse of open space. In the center of the atrium, on the lowest floor, was a food court. When it first opened and for many years afterward, the mall's advertising carried the memorable slogan "Independence Center: The "I" has it." Independence Center even featured an enormous flashing advertising marquee which stood along I-70. Independence Center was built by Homart, a division of Sears Roebuck & Co. Independence Mall (North Carolina)
Independence Mall (formerly Westfield Shoppingtown Independence or Westfield Independence) is the only enclosed shopping mall in Wilmington, North Carolina. It opened in 1979 with anchor stores Belk, Belk-Beery (now Belk), JCPenney, and Sears. A later expansion added a new wing and Dillard's store to the center after Westfield Group purchased the mall. The mall is located on Oleander Drive (US Route 76, U.S. 76) and Independence Blvd east of downtown Wilmington. The mall has a food court and no longer features a carousel. History Independence Mall was developed by a partnership between Philadelphia-based Strouse, Greenberg & Co. and Wilmington-based The Oleander Co. Independence National Historical Park is a federally protected historic district in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that preserves several sites associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history. Administered by the National Park Service, the park comprises many of Philadelphia's most-visited historic sites within the Old City and Society Hill neighborhoods.
