Indar Weir
Indar Anthony Weir (born 19 April 1961 in Saint Philip, Barbados) is a Barbadian politician, businessman and cabinet minister in the government of Mia Mottley. He is the current minister of Agriculture and Food Security in the Mia Mottley administration. Early life and education Weir was born on April 19, 1961, in Saint Philip, Barbados. He attended the St. Philip Boys’ School in Saint Philip, where he finished his primary school. After his primary education, he attended Cooperative High School and obtained his high school leaving certificate. He attended University of the West Indies, where he studied Business Administration and obtained a BSc and subsequently obtained EMBA from the same institution. Career Weir is the chairman of Indar Weir Travel Centre in Barbados. In 2013, he ran for member of parliament in the 2013 general elections of Barbados. Saint Philip, Barbados
Saint Philip is a parish of Barbados at the easternmost end of the island. Saint Philip’s Parish Church was built as the Anglican parish church in 1640. St. Philip has the largest land area of the 11 parishes of Barbados and has a relatively flat 'close to sea-level' terrain. St. Philip has the largest area of crop cultivation making it locally considered "the country". St. Philip does not have a 'true' city as some other parishes but rather 'areas' and 'villages'. Mia Mottley
Mia Amor Mottley, (born 1 October 1965) is a Barbadian politician and attorney who has served as the eighth prime minister of Barbados since 2018 and as Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) since 2008. Mottley is the first woman to hold either position. She is also Barbados' first prime minister under its republican system, following constitutional changes she introduced that abolished the country's constitutional monarchy. Mottley has been the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Saint Michael North East since 1994. From 1994 to 2008, she held a succession of ministerial portfolios including the post of Attorney-General of Barbados becoming the first woman to be appointed as such. Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of the Americas, and the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands. University Of The West Indies At Cave Hill
University of the West Indies at Cave Hill is a public research university in Cave Hill, Barbados. It is one of five general campuses in the University of the West Indies system. It was the third campus to be established by the UWI System, following the Mona campus in Jamaica and the St. Augustine campus in Trinidad and Tobago. The Cave Hill campus is also the headquarters of the Open Campus, which is responsible for UWI programmes in the non-campus territories. Adriel Dermont Brathwaite, SC (born 1962) is a Barbadian politician and lawyer, who formally held the positions of Attorney-General, Minister of Home Affairs, and Member of Parliament for Saint Philip South. Career Brathwaite is an attorney-at-law of over thirty years of practice. He worked in the British Virgin Islands for ten years before returning to Barbados. He was elected to Parliament as MP for Saint Philip South in the 2008 election.
