''Incognegro'' is the independent and debut studio album by American rapper Ludacris. It was released on August 17, 1999, by Ludacris' newly founded indie record label, DTP Entertainment. Recording sessions took place from 1998 to 1999, with Ludacris serving as the record's executive producer, while the additional production was provided by Jermaine Dupri and Organized Noize, among others. The album was supported by two singles: "Ho" (produced by Bangladesh), and "What's Your Fantasy" (featuring Shawnna, produced by Bangladesh). Every track would later appear on his second album except for "Intro", "It Wasn't Us", "Midnight Train", & "Rock and a Hard Place". Disturbing tha Peace Records (DTP) is an American record label founded by Ludacris, Jeff Dixon, and Chaka Zulu. History Beginnings Disturbing tha Peace was founded in 1998 by Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges, manager Chaka Zulu, and Zulu's brother Jeff Dixon. The record label started as an independent label and was created to serve as an outlet for musicians hailing from the “Dirty South” especially for Ludacris who at the time failed to get a major label record deal. Incorporating all aspects of A&R Guidance, Marketing/Publicity, Promotions, Creative Sponsorship Opportunities, Touring and Performance set-up, and Long-term Artist Development. ''Back for the First Time'' is the major label debut studio album by American hip hop recording artist Ludacris. The album, his major label debut, was released on October 17, 2000 as planned, under Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam South. Background Most of the tracks are taken from his first album, the independently released ''Incognegro'' (1999), except for "Stick 'Em Up", "Southern Hospitality", a remix of "What's Your Fantasy", and "Phat Rabbit". Commercial performance The album debuted at number four on the US ''Billboard'' 200 chart, and sold 133,000 copies in its first-week of sales. As of November 2009, the album has sold 3.1 million copies in the United States to date. Bobby Sandimanie, better known by his stage name I-20, is an American rapper. He was originally known as Infamous 2-0 (on Ludacris's first two albums ''Incognegro'' and ''Back for the First Time''), but changed his name to reflect the interstate route that runs through the Southeastern United States. He was discovered by Ludacris, who signed him to the Disturbing tha Peace record label.
