Incarnate Word Cardinals Football
The Incarnate Word Cardinals football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) located in San Antonio, Texas. The program began in 2009 and originally competed in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference. In 2013, the school moved to Division I. For the 2013 season, UIW competed as a member of the Southland Conference for all sports except football. Football competed with an 11-game schedule as an Independent. UIW began playing Southland football in the 2014 season. The team plays its home games at the 6,000 seat Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium. Clint Killough
Clinton Killough (born June 11, 1993) is an American football coach who is the head football coach at Incarnate Word. Playing career Killough grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended Douglas MacArthur High School. He was the Brahmas starting quarterback for three seasons. Killough was named first-team All-District 26-5A as a senior after passing for 2,273 yards and 31 touchdowns while also rushing for 743 yards and 11 touchdowns. He initially committed to play college football at Texas Tech as a preferred walk-on and move to wide receiver. Killough ultimately enrolled at Texas State, where he redshirted his true freshman season before transferring to the University of the Incarnate Word. Over three seasons playing for the Cardinals he caught 54 passes for 692 yards and two touchdowns. Larry Kennan
Lawrence W. Kennan (born June 13, 1944) is an American football coach and former player. Kennan was most recently the head football coach for the Incarnate Word Cardinals football, University of the Incarnate Word from 2012 to 2017. He was also the head coach at Lamar University from 1979 to 1981 and for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football (WLAF) in 1991. Kennan served as the executive director of the NFL Coaches Association from 1998 until 2011. Coaching career Kennan's coaching career began at his alma mater University of La Verne, La Verne in 1966. The 2022 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented California State University, Sacramento as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Troy Taylor and played their home games at Hornet Stadium. This season set multiple milestones for the team. They beat an FBS team for the first time since 2012 and the first time under Troy Taylor with a 41–10 victory over Colorado State. The 2022 Furman Paladins football team represented Furman University as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season.
