Inaros II
Inaros (II), also known as Inarus, (fl. 460 BC) was an Ancient Egypt, Egyptian rebel ruler who was the son of an Egyptian prince named Psammetichus IV, Psamtik, presumably of the 26th Dynasty, old Saite line, and grandson of Psamtik III. In 460 BC, he revolted against the Achaemenid Empire, Persians with the help of his Delian League, Athenian allies under Admiral Charitimides, and History of Persian Egypt, defeated the Persian army commanded by satrap Achaemenes (satrap), Achaemenes. The Persians retreated to Memphis, Egypt, Memphis, but the Athenians were finally defeated in 454 BC by the Persian army led by Megabyzus, satrap of Syria, and Artabazos I of Phrygia, Artabazus, satrap of Phrygia, after a two-year siege. Inaros was captured and carried away to Susa where he was reportedly crucifixion, crucified in 454 BC. Inaros I
Inaros I of Athribis (''floruit, fl.'' c. 674–657 BC) was an ancient Egyptian prince who rebelled against the Neo-Assyrian Empire, Assyrians during their short-lived occupation of Egypt. His struggle against the Assyrians gave rise to a whole cycle of stories, known as ''The Inaros Stories'', the latest of which date to the 2nd century AD, about 750 years after his death. Biography Little is known about the historical events surrounding his rebellion, except that he came from a prominent family. He was the son of Prince Bakennefy of Athribis, mentioned in the annals of Assyria, Assyrian king Assurbanipal, and his grandfather was Pediese (prince in Athribis), Prince Padiaset of Athribis, mentioned on the Stele of Piye. ''The Inaros Stories'' suggests that Inaros and the king of Saïs, Necho I, were involved in a battle in 674 BCE between the Assyrians led by Assarhaddon and the Kingdom of Kush, Napatheans led by Taharqa. ''The Expanse'' is a series of science fiction novels (and related novellas and short stories) by James S. A. Corey, the joint pen name of authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. The first novel, '' Leviathan Wakes'', was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2012. The complete series was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Series in 2017.
