"In the Shadows" is a song by Finnish alternative rock band the Rasmus, included on the group's fifth studio album ''Dead Letters''. Released in 2003, the single achieved considerable chart success throughout Europe and Oceania, including the United Kingdom, where it reached 3, and New Zealand, where it topped the chart. The song was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single in 2004. Composition "In the Shadows" is written in the key of F minor. The chorus is based on the " millennial whoop" vocal pattern, and is considered the earliest XXI century example of this tool in popular music. The "whoop" did exist before, but only became ubiquitous after "In the Shadows". The Rasmus
The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school.Main source of the band's history: The original band members were Lauri Ylönen (lead singer-songwriter), Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band and was replaced by female guitarist Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen in 2022. "Guilty" is a song by Finnish alternative rock band The Rasmus, originally released on the band's fifth album ''Dead Letters'' on March 21, 2003. The single was released on 4 August 2004 by the record label Playground Music. It was the last single from the album ''Dead Letters'' and also features the track " First Day of My Life" (live). The UK version features "Guilty" (US radio edit), " Play Dead" and the video of "Guilty". Content The band have said that this song is about how they have neglected their family and friends because of the demanding and time-consuming nature of their job. Picture discs are gramophone (phonograph) records that show images on their playing surface, rather than being of plain black or colored vinyl. Dynasty (association)
Dynasty was an association founded in 1999 by the Finnish bands The Rasmus, Killer and Kwan. Killer has since disbanded and are no longer considered members. Philosophy The reasons for founding the association was to strengthen the co-operation between the bands and subsequently their members. Members are anticipated to display the Dynasty logo, for example as part of tattoos or on guitar straps. Co-operation within the association transcends the main bands, and guest appearances are common. The Rasmus' drummer Aki Hakala has played in both Killer and Kwan, also appearing in Kwan's music video for the song ''Padam''. Killer was co-produced and co-managed by Lauri Ylönen and Pauli Rantasalmi from The Rasmus. Rantasalmi has also produced the Kwan song ''Chillin' at the Grotto''.
