''In Writing'' is a 1961 Australian television play by an Australian writer living in London, Raymond Bowers, and directed by Kevin Shine. It was first presented on the BBC in London in 1956 and was also presented on stage and radio. Australian TV drama was relatively rare at the time. Plot According to the ''Sydney Morning Herald'' it was "the story of an unusual murder in London involving a husband and wife, investigated in an unorthodox manner by Detective-Inspector Hurst." James Peebles has befriended John Clostin's wife and Clostin is unhappy with that. Raymond Bowers (writer)
Raymond Bowers was an Australian writer who mostly worked in London. He worked as a journalist in Perth, writing for amateur theatre. In 1954 at age 34 he went to London in order to improve his chances of having his work done professionally. His breakthrough play was '' In Writing'' in 1956, later done for Australian television. "My first aim is to make money," he said in 1957. "To do that you have to entertain. If I have any philosophising to do, I'll leave it until I'm well established." ''The Argus'' was an Australian daily morning newspaper in Melbourne from 2 June 1846 to 19 January 1957, and was considered to be the general Australian newspaper of record for this period. Leonard George Thiele AO (26 September 192214 May 1994), professionally Leonard Teale, was a well-known Australian actor of radio, television and film and radio announcer, presenter and narrator known for his resonant baritone voice. He is best remembered for his role in the long-running Australian police prodedural drama ''Homicide'' as David "Mac" MacKay. As a professional actor he adopted Teale – a homophone of his birth surname, Thiele – as a stage name. Anne Haddy (5 October 1930 – 6 June 1999), credited also as Anne Hardy, was an Australian actress, television presenter and voice artist, who worked in various facets of the industry including radio, stage and television. She was married to actor and scriptwriter James Condon. Haddy appeared in numerous television films early in her career, but was better known for her television soap opera/serials roles, starting with numerous roles in ''Crawford Production'' serials, she had a stint in cult series ''Prisoner'', as Alice Hemmings and a permanent role in '' Sons and Daughters'' as Rosie Andrews. James Workman (1912 – 28 March 2001) was a Scottish-born actor and writer who mostly worked in Australia. Biography Workman was born in South Africa, and worked as a sailor and a policemen. He lived in South Africa, working for in radio before going to Australia for his wife's health. Bernard Lee
John Bernard Lee (10 January 190816 January 1981) was an English actor, best known for his role as M in the first eleven Eon-produced James Bond films. Lee's film career spanned the years 1934 to 1979, though he had appeared on stage from the age of six. He was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Lee appeared in over one hundred films, as well as on stage and in television dramatisations.
