''In Waves'' is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Trivium. It was released worldwide on various dates August 2, 2011, and August 9, 2011, through Roadrunner Records and was produced by Colin Richardson and Martyn "Ginge" Ford. Background and promotion It is the first album to feature second drummer Nick Augusto and the first without original drummer Travis Smith. The first single from the band, "In Waves", was released on May 21, 2011, to Trivium World members. Following this on June 6, 2011, Matt Heafy stated on his Twitter that the album would be named after the aforementioned song. The single was most recently released onto the US iTunes Store & Zune Marketplace on June 10. On June 17, the music video for "In Waves" was released. On June 19, Trivium performed "In Waves", "Black" and "Dusk Dismantled" at their show in Birmingham, United Kingdom. "In Waves" is the first single from American heavy metal band Trivium's fifth studio album by the same name. This song was released on May 21, 2011. It is the first single to feature drummer Nick Augusto, and it has a different sound than Trivium's previous singles. It reached 31 on the UK Rock Chart. Music video The song's video was directed by Ramon Boutviseth (Dream Theater, All That Remains) and shows the band exploring a strange "swamp like" place. There is no performance in the video and it is extended to seven minutes. It is the first of a series of videos followed by the next single Built to Fall from the same album. Along with the rest of the songs from the album a live performance of the song from Chapman Studios was released. Trivium is an American heavy metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 1999. ''Ascendancy'' is the second studio album by American heavy metal band Trivium. It was released on March 15, 2005, through Roadrunner Records and was produced by Jason Suecof and Matt Heafy. Background This marks the first Trivium album to feature guitarist Corey Beaulieu and bassist Paolo Gregoletto. The album was produced by Jason Suecof and frontman Matt Heafy.
