''In the Pink'' is the fourth studio album by singer-songwriter Donna Lewis. It is co-produced by Lewis, Simon Duffy and Gerry Leonard. History Lewis met Simon Duffy in Italy in 1999/2000, and in 2002 they began putting tracks together for the album, co-writing the song "Obsession". This process halted for two years after Lewis gave birth to her son. In April 2005 she met with guitarist Gerry Leonard, who had played on her first two albums and was on a break from touring. She played him the songs that had been recorded so far and asked if he would co-produce. Leonard agreed and enlisted drummer Doug Yowell and bassist Jeff Allan; other musicians who contributed include Jay Belarose, Robert Bell of the band The Blue Nile, Harvey Jones, Tony Levin and David Torn. She is best known for the 1996 pop hit single "I Love You Always Forever", which peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart, and also peaked within the top ten of the charts in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, and the United States. In the latter country, the song peaked at number two on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for nine weeks, having been held off the summit by the Bayside Boys Remix of "Macarena" by Los Del Rio. Simon Duffy
Simon Duffy (born 13 February, 1965) is a British welfare rights researcher, philosopher, activist and co-founder of Citizen Network and the Centre for Welfare Reform (now Citizen Network Research). His academic work has focused on the welfare state, means-tested benefits, Universal Basic Income and personalisation in social care. Career After graduating with an MA in Philosophy & Politics from the University of Edinburgh in 1987, Duffy led development of early work on individualised funding and brokerage at Southwark Consortium (noChoice Support between 1990 and 1994. Gerry Leonard
Gerry Leonard is an Irish lead guitarist and solo artist, known for his harmonic and ambient guitar style and for his work with David Bowie. He has lived and worked in Dublin, Copenhagen, and Manhattan. Hinterland From Clontarf in Dublin, Leonard played in bands as a teen, influenced by a mixture of Led Zeppelin, punk and post punk and whatever was playing on Top of the Pops. Early on, he worked as a tape operator in Lombard Sound studios in Dublin, where one job was recording a demo tape by a sixteen-year-old Sinéad O'Connor, and he got to see U2 and Phil Lynott at work. The Blue Nile (band)
The Blue Nile were a Scottish band which originated in Glasgow. The group's early music was built heavily on synthesizers and electronic instrumentation and percussion, although later works featured guitar more prominently.
