''En la Palma de Tu Mano'' (''In the Palm of Your Hand'') is a 1951 Mexican crime drama film directed by Roberto Gavaldón. The film received eleven nominations and won eight Ariel Awards in 1952, including Best Picture and Best Director. It was shot at the Churubusco Studios in Mexico City. The film's sets were designed by the art director Francisco Marco Chillet. Roberto Gavaldón
Roberto Gavaldón (June 7, 1909 in Jiménez, Chihuahua – September 4, 1986 in Mexico City) was a Mexican film director. Eight of Gavaldón's films were featured on the list 100 Best Movies of the Cinema of Mexico. His 1958 film ''Ash Wednesday'' was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival and his 1959 film ''Beyond All Limits'' was entered into the following years festival. His 1960 film '' Macario'' was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Luis Spota
Luis Mario Cayetano Spota Saavedra Ruotti Castañares (13 July 1925, Mexico City — 20 January 1985) was a Mexican writer, journalist, boxing official and film director. Although he never finished primary school, Spota became a highly successful author and journalist in his lifetime, appearing frequently on TV and radio. He was also a busy screenwriter for the Mexican film industry. He was a close friend of the Mexican president Miguel Aleman Valdes. He was the first President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) (February 1963 - September 1968). He died of pancreatic cancer in Mexico City. Bibliography He wrote more than 30 books, many of which were translated abroad. The Ariel Award for Best Actor (Spanish: Premio Ariel a Mejor Actor) is an award presented by the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMACC) in Mexico. It is given in honor of an actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role while working within the Mexican film industry. In 1947, the 1st and 2nd Ariel Awards were held, with Domingo Soler and David Silva winning for the films ''La Barraca'' and ''Campeón Sin Corona'', respectively. With the exception of the years 1959 to 1971, when the Ariel Awards were suspended, the award has been given annually.
