DeLuna began pursuing a career as a singer when she was a teenager and later signed with Epic Records. Her debut single, " Whine Up", released in 2007, went on to become ...'s. It served as the fourth single from DeLuna's debut album '' 9 Lives''. Music video The music video was shot in mid-2008 and was released on her official YouTube page on October 31, 2008. It shows DeLuna singing and dancing in front of a white and stripped background, wearing various outfits. The video is intercut with scenes of her performing the song with a microphone. ''9 Lives'' is the debut studio album by American singer Kat DeLuna. It was released in the United States on August 7, 2007. The album is a mix of R&B, pop, latin and dancehall influences. The album is mainly produced by RedOne, who at the time was unknown. Many of the songs on the album have a Hispanic feel, mainly the track Am I Dreaming. The album features guest appearances by artists such as Shaka Dee, Don Omar, Elephant Man and American rapper Busta Rhymes. DeLuna would later collaborate with Elephant Man yet again on her 2010 album, ''Inside Out''. ''9 Lives'' saw the release of three singles.
