''In the Constellation of the Black Widow'' is the fifth studio album by British extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh, released on 29 June 2009 by Candlelight Records. The album was also released on LP, limited to 500 copies. 250 copies are pressed on black and white splatter vinyl, and 250 copies are pressed on black and purple vinyl. The album title is derived from a passage in the book ''Moment of Freedom'' by Norwegian writer Jens Bjørneboe. The cover art is taken from Gustave Doré's illustrations to "The Raven". "Satanarchrist" is a re-recording from ''Total Fucking Necro''. Anaal Nathrakh
Anaal Nathrakh are a British extreme metal band formed in 1999 in Birmingham by multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney and vocalist Dave Hunt. They are currently signed to Metal Blade Records. The band's name is Irish for ''snake's breath'' ( anál nathrach) and was taken from Merlin's Charm of Making in John Boorman's 1981 film ''Excalibur''. The band recorded two demos in 1999, which were later released as an album. The band has released eleven studio albums, one EP, and one compilation album. The band has been praised for mixing elements of grindcore, black metal, death metal, industrial, and other genres. Total Fucking Necro
''Total Fucking Necro'' is a compilation album comprising two complete Anaal Nathrakh demos, ''Anaal Nathrakh'' and ''Total Fucking Necro'', and one previously unreleased track from the unreleased ''We Will Fucking Kill You'' demo (2001). This album was originally released on Leviaphonic Records in 2000 with only 8 tracks and a different track order. A re-issue of the album was released on June 11, 2021. The re-issue includes a limited edition run of special vinyls, along with a jewel case CD. Reception Pedro Avezedo from ''Chronicles of Chaos'' gave the album 8/10 in his review. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist). Mick Kenney
Mick Kenney (born 18 January 1980) is a British musician and record producer. He gained popularity as the lead guitarist of the extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh, for which he performs under the stage name Irrumator. Career Kenney studied Illustration at the University of Birmingham. He is a founding member of the extreme metal act Anaal Nathrakh where he started out as the lead guitarist and is now playing all the instruments. They have released a total of eleven albums since being formed in 1998. He operates Necrodeath Studios since 1999. A small recording studio situated near the centre of Birmingham, England. He relocated to Orange County, California, in 2007. There, he founded the clothing label Misanthropy Clothing in 2013. Dave Hunt (musician)
Dave Hunt is an English extreme metal vocalist. He is the vocalist of Anaal Nathrakh under the pseudonym V.I.T.R.I.O.L., ( la, Visita Interiora Terræ Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem, lit=Visit the interior of the earth, and by rectifying, you will discover the hidden stone), a phrase found in alchemical literature which purports to be the origin of the name of vitriol. He was also the vocalist of Mistress under the pseudonym Dave Cunt until their split in March 2008. Notably, Dave Hunt's lyrics for his main band, Anaal Nathrakh, are never released or published in album liner notes. The one known exception is the song "Tod Huetet Uebel" from '' Passion'', which was written as a collaboration with Rainer Landfermann, best known for his vocal work on the Bethlehem album '' Dictius Te Necare''. The Raven
"The Raven" is a narrative poem by American writer Edgar Allan Poe. First published in January 1845, the poem is often noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a distraught lover who is paid a mysterious visit by a talking raven. The lover, often identified as a student,Meyers, 163Silverman, 239 is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to further antagonize the protagonist with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". The poem makes use of folk, mythological, religious, and classical references. Poe claimed to have written the poem logically and methodically, with the intention to create a poem that would appeal to both critical and popular tastes, as he explained in his 1846 follow-up essay, "The Philosophy of Composition".
