In Our Time (1982 Film)
''In Our Time'' ( zh, 光陰的故事) is a 1982 Taiwanese anthology film directed by Edward Yang, Yi Chang, Ko I-Chen and Tao Te-Chen. The film's four vignettes each take place in a different decade between 1950 and 1980 and depict characters at different points in their lives. The film deals with a range of dramatic, comic, economic and social themes. The first two episodes are described as contemplative and dream-inspired, while the latter two episodes feature more dialogue and overt comedy. The first segment, translated as "Dinosaurs" or "Little Dragon Head" is directed by Tao and follows a young boy who escapes from parental neglect and ostracization by peers by retreating into a fantasy world populated by his dinosaur toys. Edward Yang
Edward Yang (; November 6, 1947 – June 29, 2007) was a Taiwanese filmmaker. Yang, along with fellow auteurs Hou Hsiao-hsien and Tsai Ming-liang, was one of the leading film-makers of the Taiwanese New Wave and Taiwanese cinema. He won the Best Director Award at Cannes for his 2000 film ''Yi Yi''. Youth and early career Yang was born in Shanghai in 1947, and grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. Chang Yi (Taiwan Director)
Chang Yi (張毅; 14 December 1951 – 1 November 2020) was a Taiwanese film director. Career Chang was born in Taipei and studied film at Shih Hsin University. He is listed in the New Taiwan Cinema directors. He won the Golden Horse Award for Best Director and Asia Pacific Film Festival because of 1985 film ''Kuei-Mei, a Woman'' (我這樣過了一生). He had an extramarital affair with Loretta Yang, the leading actress in many of Chang's movies. After the affair was exposed by Hsiao Sa, Chang Yi and Loretta Yang left Taiwan film industry and became the founders of contemporary glass studio Liuli Gongfang. Chang Yi died on November 1, 2020. Lorretta Yang acknowledged that Chang had health issues from 2018, particularly with his immune system and kidneys, and that Chang had sought medical treatment in hospital since February 2020. Sylvia Chang (born 21 July 1953) is a Taiwanese actress, writer, singer, producer and director. In 1992, she was a member of the jury at the 42nd Berlin International Film Festival.
