Love Unlimited
Love Unlimited was a female vocal trio that provided backing vocals for American singer-songwriter Barry White on his albums and concert tours. They also found success with their own recordings. Career Formed in 1969, the group included Barry White's future wife, Glodean James, her sister, Linda James, and their cousin Diane Taylor (who died of cancer in Pomona, California on November 29, 1985 at age 38). Their first hit was " Walkin' in the Rain with the One I Love" in 1972. It peaked at number 14 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number 7 on the ''Cash Box'' Top 100, and 6 on the Best Selling Soul Singles Chart. Move Me No Mountain
"Move Me No Mountain" is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy and Aaron Schroeder. It was originally recorded in 1974 by Love Unlimited, a group organized and produced by Barry White. In 1975, Ragovoy arranged and produced a recording of the song by American singer Dionne Warwick. Warwick's version used a slightly different melody in the song's chorus than the melody sung by Love Unlimited, and this variation has been used on subsequent recordings of the song. In 1980, American singer Chaka Khan recorded a version of the song with production by Arif Mardin. Soul II Soul version "Move Me No Mountain" was covered by British R&B band Soul II Soul and released in June 1992 as the second single from their third album, ''Volume III Just Right'' (1992). Jerry Ragovoy
Jordan "Jerry" Ragovoy (September 4, 1930 – July 13, 2011) was an American songwriter and record producer. His best-known composition " Time Is on My Side" (written under the pseudonym of Norman Meade) was made famous by the Rolling Stones, although it had been recorded earlier by Kai Winding and Irma Thomas. Ragovoy also wrote " Stay With Me", which was originally recorded by Lorraine Ellison and made famous by Bette Midler in her film '' The Rose''. It was also performed by Mary J. Blige at the 49th Grammy Awards. He also wrote "Piece of My Heart" which became a significant hit for Big Brother and the Holding Company, featuring Janis Joplin. Ticknor and Fields was an American publishing company based in Boston, Massachusetts.
