''Imtihan'' () is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language film starring Vinod Khanna, Tanuja and Bindu (actress), Bindu. The story of the film revolves around an idealistic professor who decides to reform a group of rowdy students at a college. It is inspired by the 1967 British film ''To Sir, with Love'', and has inspired the television series ''Jeet (TV series), Jeet''. The film was shot in Nashik.It is remake of Tamil film Nootrukku Nooru. Plot Pramod Sharma (Vinod Khanna) is the son of a wealthy businessman (Murad (actor), Murad). An idealistic person, he leaves his family business to become a lecturer of history at the college Adarsh Mahavidyalya. Bindu Nanubhai Desai (born 17 April 1941), better known mononymously as Bindu, is a former Indian actress who was popular in the 1970s. She has acted in over 160 movies in a career that spanned four decades, receiving seven Filmfare award nominations. She is most remembered for her role as Shabnam in ''Kati Patang'' (1970) and for her films opposite Prem Chopra. Bindu made her film debut in 1962, starring in her first movie Anpadh as Kiran. In 1969, she starred in Ittefaq as Renu, and in Do Raaste as Neela. Asrar ul Hassan Khan (1 October 1919 − 24 May 2000), better known as Majrooh Sultanpuri, was an Indian Urdu poet and lyricist in India's Hindi language film industry. He wrote Hindustani lyrics for numerous Hindi film soundtracks. He was one of the dominating musical forces in Indian cinema in the 1950s and early 1960s, and was an important figure in the Progressive Writers' Movement. He is considered one of the finest avant-garde Urdu poets of 20th century literature. In his career spanning six decades, he worked with many music directors. Hamid Ali Murad (24 September 1911 – 24 April 1997) known simply as Murad was an Indian character actor who appeared in more than 100 Hindi language films from the early 1940s through to the end of the 1980s, playing character roles of a father, police officer, judge and an emperor. His son Raza Murad is also an actor in the Hindi film industry who is known for playing mostly villain roles. Vinod Khanna (6 October 1946 – 27 April 2017) was an Indian actor, film producer and politician who is best known for his work in Hindi films; while also being a notable spiritual seeker.
