Amy Elizabeth Imrie
Amy Elizabeth Imrie (née Pollard; 4 October 1870 – 4 April 1944), was a British heiress and one of the wealthiest women in Britain who, at the age of 37, became a Roman Catholic nun, Sister Mary Clare and, subsequently, Mother Superior of the Order of Poor Clares. Born as Amy Elizabeth Rosalie Pollard in British Guiana, nowadays Guyana, to William Branch Pollard and his first wife, Elizabeth Anne (née Blackley). After the death of her mother, at age 1, she went to live with her mother's sister Hannah and her husband William Imrie. She was later adopted by Hannah and William. William Imrie was co-owner of White Star Line shipping, and Amy was the sole heir to his fortune upon his death in 1906, receiving income from his estate during her life. Angus William Jake Imrie (born 2 August 1994) is a British actor. He is known for playing the character Josh Archer in BBC Radio 4's long-running drama serial ''The Archers''. In 2014, he won the casting agency Spotlight (Casting Services Company), Spotlight's Most Promising Actor Award at ''The Sunday Times''s National Student Drama Festival. Douglas Imrie (born 3 August 1983) is a Scottish football coach and former player, who is currently the manager of Greenock Morton. Imrie played as either a forward or a winger in the professional leagues for Clyde, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, St Mirren, Greenock Morton and Hamilton Academical, having previously played in the Junior league for Lanark United. James Imrie (born 1909, date of death unknown) was a Scottish footballer who played as goalkeeper, for Kettering Town, Crystal Palace, Luton Town, and Doncaster Rovers. Imrie started off playing for Dunbeath Star, in Scotland before moving to England to join Kettering. Career Crystal Palace Palace bought 5 players from Kettering, including Imrie, in March 1929. Thomas Imrie
Thomas "Red" Imrie (15 July 1937 – 24 August 2020) was a British ice hockey defender who played in the United Kingdom during the 1950s and 1960s. He also played for the Great Britain national team between 1961 and 1966. He was inducted into the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. Career Born in Falkirk, ( Scotland), Imrie began playing senior ice hockey for the Falkirk Lions in the Scottish National League as a forward before he settled on defence during the first season of the British National League in 1954–55. William Noble Imrie (4 March 1908 – 26 December 1944) was a Scottish footballer who played as a right half. Career Born in Methil, Imrie played club football for St Johnstone, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United, Swansea Town and Swindon Town.
