Imre Antal
Imre Antal (31 July 1935 – 15 April 2008) was a Hungarian pianist, television presenter and comedian. His career as a pianist He graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Music Zeneakadémia, Budapest. He became a celebrated young pianist in the 1960s. He was 2nd prize winner of the 7th and 8th World Festival of Youth and Students, Vienna, 1959 and Helsinki, 1962. In 1960 he was awarded the 2nd prize at the XII Concorso Busoni, and six years later he won the 1st prize at Budapest's Liszt- Bartók International Pianist Competition (Although the international jury pronounced him as the winner, the organizers did not award the 1st prize - possibly for a political pressure, officially he received a 2nd prize as the best performer.) Hódmezővásárhely
Hódmezővásárhely (; also known by other alternative names) is a city with county rights in southeast Hungary, on the Great Hungarian Plain, at the meeting point of the Békés-Csanádi Ridge and the clay grassland surrounding the river Tisza. In 2017, it had a population of 44,009. Etymology and names The city's name, which literally translates to ''Beavers' Field Marketplace'', was first mentioned after the unification of two Árpád-era villages, Hód and Vásárhely, the former getting its name after Beaver's lake, an apocope of ''Hód-tó'' (now one of the city's districts and the canal ''Hód-tavi-csatorna)'' and the latter coming from the mediaeval legal term marking settlements with the right of hosting markets and literally meaning market town. M1 (TV Channel)
M1 (M Egy) is a Hungarian television channel owned and operated by Duna Média since 2015. It is also transmitted in high definition. It was the most watched national channel in Hungary and its transmission receiving is 97%. On 15 March 2015, M1 was relaunched as a 24-hour news channel, meaning all variety programming is now transferred to Duna. A 2019 report by the European Federation of Journalists stated that news coverage of Hungarian public broadcaster is not balanced, opposition politicians' viewpoints are nearly absent from the reports, and there is a lack of transparency over the funding and work of MTVA. The report concluded that the "public service media have been deformed into state media." On 15th March 2020, M1 had an overhaul; the gaps were removed from the circle, and a new graphics presentation was unveiled. RTL (formerly: RTL Klub) is a Hungarian free-to-air television channel owned by RTL Group. The channel began broadcasting three days after its main rival TV2, one of Hungary's first commercial TV channels. History Since its start, RTL Klub has focused to gain viewers from the urban population. The channel airs programs mostly for a younger (18-49) audience. RTL Klub rebranded again in early September 1999. The idents consists of two elements (fire and water), with the eye motif being introduced for the first time.
