Machine Gun Fellatio
Machine Gun Fellatio were an Australian alternative rock band, formed in 1997. They were well known for their provocative on-stage antics and humorous lyrics, as well as the musical merit of their songs. Their outrage-provoking name (coined by an early associate of the band who devised the term from a philosophy exercise) gives some idea of the attitude that pervades the band's work. They released three studio albums, three EPs and three singles before breaking up in 2005. History 1997–1999: Formation and ''Love Comes to an End'' Machine Gun Fellatio were formed when members of two Sydney bands, Vrag and Limebunny, combined in 1997. The bands had previously collaborated on projects and had released a compilation record, ''Unsound Sounds'', which included a track by Vrag, "Isaac or Fuzz". Mushroom Records was an Australian flagship record label, founded in 1972 in Melbourne. It published and distributed many successful Australian artists and expanded internationally, until it was merged with Festival Records in 1998. Festival Mushroom Records was later acquired by Warner Bros. Records, which operated the label from 2005 to 2010 until it folded to Warner Bros. Records. ''Bring It On!'' is the debut studio album by Australian alternative rock band Machine Gun Fellatio. It was released in 2000 by record label Mushroom. Reception Jody Macgregor of AllMusic wrote, "there's genuine songcraft to MGF and it's on display in ''Bring It On!'' more than anywhere else in their brief discography", and described the song "Unsent Letter" as " bittersweet love song that sits comfortably among the best pop music Australian bands have ever produced". Track listing "Blacklamb" and "Horny Blonde Forty" were originally recorded as Limebunny (a pre-Machine Gun Fellatio band founded by Pinky Beecroft and Chit Chat von Loopin Stab) songs. Pinky Beecroft
Matt Ford, known professionally as Pinky Beecroft, is an Australian singer-songwriter, performer and screenwriter. From 1997 to 2005 he was the lead singer and keyboardist for alternative rockers, Machine Gun Fellatio. His group Pinky Beecroft and the White Russians released an album, ''Somethin' Somewhere Better'', in August 2008. As a songwriter he co-wrote, "No Aphrodisiac" (December 1997), with bandmate Chit Chat Von Loopin Stab and The Whitlams' Tim Freedman. Christa Hughes
Christa Teresa Hughes is an Australian singer, circus performer and comedian. She utilises wild on-stage antics and a powerful voice. From age 15, she has performed gigs with her father, jazz pianist, journalist and broadcaster, Dick Hughes. At age 17 had a regular set at Sydney's Shakespeare Hotel. She was the vocalist for the band Machine Gun Fellatio (as KK Juggy) from 2000 to 2005.
