Imperiex
Imperiex () is a supervillain character that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. He was initially introduced as an adversary to the superhero Superman before becoming a main antagonist for DC Comics' the "Our Worlds at War" crossover. Publication history The character first appears in ''Superman'' (vol. 2) #153 (February 2000), and was created by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness. The character is heavily inspired from Galactus in Marvel Comics. Fictional character biography The embodiment of entropy, Imperiex takes the form of pure energy contained inside a colossal, humanoid set of armor. Since the dawn of time, he has repeatedly destroyed the universe to create a new one from the ashes of the old. He is first mentioned when Mongul II arrives on Earth stating that Imperiex has destroyed his Warworld and is heading for Earth. Our Worlds At War
"Our Worlds at War" was a comic book storyline, published by DC Comics in mid-2001. OWAW was a crossover storyline that spanned several different books, including several books starring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and a number of supporting characters and books. Creators involved in the crossover included writers Jeph Loeb, Joe Casey, Mark Schultz, Joe Kelly, Phil Jimenez, and Peter David, and artists that included Mike Wieringo, Ed McGuinness, Doug Mahnke, Ron Garney, and Leonard Kirk. Plot The crossover, which occurred mainly through the monthly ''Superman'' titles, ''Wonder Woman'', and a series of character themed one-shot specials, dealt with the heroes of the DC Universe facing the threat of the cosmic force known as Imperiex, who attacked Earth for the purpose of using the planet as the staging ground for the "hollowing" of the entire universe. Brainiac (character)
Brainiac is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #242 in July 1958. Brainiac is usually depicted as an extraterrestrials in fiction, extraterrestrial Android (robot), android or cyborg who serves as one of Superman's greatest List of Superman enemies, enemies and a major adversary of the Justice League. He is known for shrinking and stealing Kandor (comics), Kandor, the capital city of Superman's home planet Krypton (comics), Krypton, and is even responsible for Krypton's destruction in some Fictional universe, continuities.
