Impact Wrestling Homecoming (2021)
The 2021 Homecoming was a professional wrestling event produced by Impact Wrestling. It was taped on July 18 and 19, 2021 and aired exclusively on Impact Plus on July 31, 2021. It was held at Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. It was the second event under the Homecoming chronology and the first to be held since the 2019 event. 10 matches were contested at the event. In the main event, Eddie Edwards defeated W. Morrissey in a hardcore match. In other prominent matches, Matthew Rehwoldt (who made his Impact debut at the event) and Deonna Purrazzo won the Homecoming tournament by defeating Decay (professional wrestling), Decay (Crazzy Steve and Rosemary (wrestler), Rosemary) in the final, and Josh Alexander (wrestler), Josh Alexander defeated Black Taurus to retain the Impact X Division Championship. Impact Wrestling (stylized as ''IMPACT! Wrestling''), is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee. It is a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment. The Road Warriors, also known as the Legion of Doom, were a professional wrestling tag team composed of Road Warrior Hawk (Michael Hegstrand) and Road Warrior Animal (Joseph Laurinaitis).. Intergender wrestling, also known as mixed wrestling, is a type of professional wrestling match between a man and a woman and may also refer to tag team matches with both men and women on each team. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating (in contrast to the villains who use illegal moves and call in additional wrestlers to do their work for them) while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience.
