Immersion (film)
''Immersion'' is a 2021 Chilean thriller film directed by Nicolás Postiglione and starring Alfredo Castro. The film is about a family sailing trip that takes an unexpected turn. The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Guadalajara International Film Festival. Synopsis On a remote, beautiful lake in Chile, a middle-class father, Ricardo, and his two daughters are sailing to visit the family’s vacation home, which is falling apart from years of neglect. As his daughters nap on deck in the mid-day sun, Ricardo sees a group of men on a small boat that seem to be in distress, and calling for help. Paranoid to a fault, he turns his sailboat in the other direction, but his daughters awaken and call him out for his lack of compassion. Shamed by his daughters, Ricardo returns to help the men, who board his sailboat. One of the men is now missing and feared drowned. Alfredo Castro (actor)
Alfredo Arturo Castro Gómez (born 19 December 1955), best known as Alfredo Castro, is a Chilean actor. With a well stablished trajectory in theater and television, he became one of the most required latinamerican film actors of the 2010's. Personal and early life He grew up in a family of five brothers; his mother died of cancer when he was 10. He attended elementary and middle school at Saint Gabriel de Las Condes, Kent School in Providencia and Liceo de Hombres No. 11 in Las Condes. He entered the Theater Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, where he graduated in acting in 1977. That same year he received the APES Award from the Association of Entertainment Journalists. That same year he debuted in ''Equus'', with good reviews from the specialized press. Guadalajara International Film Festival
The Guadalajara International Film Festival ( es, Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara) is a week-long film festival held each March in the Mexican city of Guadalajara since 1986. The presence in Guadalajara of delegates from other important festivals from around the world has helped Mexican cinema to have a strong international presence in the last twenty years.
