Immaculate Heart High School (Los Angeles)
Immaculate Heart High School and Middle School is a private, Catholic, college preparatory day school for young women grades 6-12. The school is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, United States, at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Western Avenue. There are approximately 200 students in the middle school (grades 6–8) and over 550 in the high school (grades 9–12). History The school is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It was founded by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1906 as a girl's day and boarding school. Although the school remains on its original site, much of the original Spanish Mission style convent, classrooms and boarders' dormitories were torn down in 1973. The graduation ceremony for the senior class is traditionally held at the Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood Bowl
The Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheatre in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was named one of the 10 best live music venues in America by ''Rolling Stone'' magazine in 2018. The Hollywood Bowl is known for its distinctive bandshell, originally a set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929 through 2003, before being replaced with a larger one to begin the 2004 season. The shell is set against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood Sign to the northeast. The "bowl" refers to the shape of the concave hillside into which the amphitheater is carved. Ruth Gloria Nelson (August 2, 1905 – September 12, 1992) was an American stage and film actress. Linda Dangcil (June 19, 1941 – May 7, 2009) was an American actress and dancer best known for her roles as Sister Ana in the ABC television series ''The Flying Nun'' and Carmen 'Raya' Alonso in the animated series '' Jem''. Charlotte Irene Caffey (born October 21, 1953) is an American guitarist, best known for her work in the rock band the Go-Go's in the 1980s, including writing "We Got the Beat". Career Caffey began her musical career playing bass guitar in the early Los Angeles punk band The Eyes before joining the Go-Go's in 1978 and switching to guitar. She remained friends with fellow band member Belinda Carlisle after the initial breakup of the Go-Go's and wrote songs for Carlisle's solo albums.
