Immaculate Conception Academy
Immaculate Conception Academy, Dasmariñas (ICA Dasmariñas) is a private, nonsectarian educational institution in Dasmariñas, Philippines. It is owned and managed by the school board of directors. History Immaculate Conception Academy, Inc., Dasmariñas, Cavite was first organized in October 1947. It opened its first classes of 1st year and 2nd year high school education in June 1948 with a total of 67 students. The first classes were held at the church convent of the Immaculate Conception Parish Church of Dasmariñas. Later, the school acquired a vacant lot adjacent to the church and built its first two-story building in 1956. In 1979, a lot in Ibayo was acquired and a building was built to facilitate the Industrial Arts and Physical Education classes. This is also the site for Vocational education. Immaculate Conception Academy, known locally as ICA, was a Catholic girls' high school located in Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was begun by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) in 1859 and it remained in operation until it merged with St. Ambrose Academy in 1958 to form Assumption High School. The academy building remains in use as an academic building on the campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic. History Foundation In 1844 the Rev. J.A.M. Pelamourges, pastor of St. Anthony's Church in Davenport petitioned Bishop Mathias Loras of Dubuque for Sisters to teach in the parish school and to open a girls' school in the town. Five BVM Sisters arrived the same year and established St. Philomena's Academy in a three-story brick house that was still under construction. The Pontifical Academy of the Immaculate Conception or Pontifical Academy of (Mary) Immaculate, it, Pontificia Accademia dell'Immacolata, italic=no, was an academic honorary society established in Rome by the Catholic Church for the advancement of the Marian dogma of Immaculate Conception. The Academy was established in 1835 and in 1847 was recognised by the Holy See as ''The Academy of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary''.
