Imke David (born 4 June 1967 in Erlangen, Germany) is a German viol player, author, Professor and Ensemble-Member. Early life David grew up in Erlangen in a musical family. As a six-year-old she was a member of the seven-member viol ensemble made up of her family members. As a gifted student, she was admitted as a junior student in 1986. She studied Early Music, majoring in viol with Jordi Savall at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. After a short while, she became a steady member of Savall's ensemble Hesperion XX. Major influences during her study in Basel were Jesper Christensen, Andreas Staier and René Jacobs. Career Professional appearances followed with Cantus Cölln, Concerto Palatino, Concerto Vocale under the direction of René Jacobs, Hesperion XXI under the direction of Jordi Savall, Le Concert des Nations. Imke Duplitzer (born 28 July 1975 in Karlsruhe) is a German épée fencing, fencer. Imke is a four time Olympian (2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012) where she placed 10th, 5th, 5th, and 29th respectively (in the individual competition). She also fenced in three team events at the Olympics, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics she won the silver medal in the team épée competition with Britta Heidemann and Claudia Bokel. During the 2006 World Fencing Championships she won the bronze medal after beating Romania in the épée team event together with her teammates Claudia Bokel, Britta Heidemann and Marijana Markovic. She is also a two time European Champion in the individual event (1999 & 2010) as well as being a part of the Gold medal-winning team in 1998. Duplitzer is coming out, openly lesbian. Imke Glas (born 30 August 1994) is a Dutch artistic gymnast. Personal life Glas was born on 30 August 1994 in Broek op Langedijk, Netherlands. She has two siblings. Gymnastics career Glas began gymnastics at the age of three when her parents took her to a local gym, BSV / ODIS. Glas was one of the most promising junior elite gymnasts on the Dutch Junior National Team and was a contender to compete at the 2008 European Junior Gymnastic Championships. However, on 26 October 2007 she was severely injured in an accident on vault. While in training, Glas was performing a round-off half-on, a variation of the Yurchenko type vault, when her hands missed the vault table and she fell on her head. She severely damaged her sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae, warranting extensive surgery in which neurosurgeons took a piece of her hip bone and placed it in her neck for stabilization.
