KYPCK
KYPCK ( Volapuk rendition from Russian " Курск", "Kursk" in the Western Alphabet) is a Finnish metal band. They were formed in 2007 and sing in Russian. History The band's vocalist Erkki Seppänen speaks fluent Russian after his years at Oxford University and working in the Finnish embassy in Moscow. The other members of the band are ex- Sentenced members Sami Lopakka (guitar) and Sami Kukkohovi, bassist Jaakko Ylä-Rautio and drummer Antti Karihtala. KYPCK's debut album '' Cherno'' ("Black") was released in 2008, their second album ''Nizhe'' ("Lower") in 2011, their third album ''Imena na Stene'' ("The Names on the Wall") in 2014, and their fourth album ''Zero'' in 2016. Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres.K. Kai "Hiili" Hiilesmaa (born December 1966) is a Finnish record producer and musician. He is the vocalist of the rock music, rock band The Skreppers, former drummer of the doom metal band KYPCK and former keyboardist of the rock band Daniel Lioneye. He has worked with several internationally recognized rock groups, including his near 20-year association with Finnish band HIM (Finnish band), HIM. Hiilesmaa began producing music professionally in 1995, recording with such bands as HIM, Amorphis and Apocalyptica. His trademarks include heavy, Distortion (music), overdriven guitar sounds and experimental synthesiser programming. In 2013, Hiilesmaa addressed his preference for analog recording, saying "I prefer analog these days. Not only the sound, it asks more attitude to work with analog. ''Zero'' ( Cyrillic: ''Зеро'') is the fourth studio album of the Finnish doom metal band KYPCK. It was released on 16 September 2016 under the label Ranka Kustannus. The album debuted at the Finnish official list in 20th place. Reception The album received a positive reception. Kaaosine's Sirpa Pelli found the album excellent, and praised the band' s interest in history, language and culture, as well as black humor. Imperiumi.net reviewer Harju rated the album as the most thoughtful ensemble of its time and one of the best records released in 2016. Sami Kukkohovi
Sami Kukkohovi (born 26 July 1974) is a Finnish musician, best known as the bassist of the metal band Sentenced. He joined the band in 1996, replacing Taneli Jarva, and stayed with ''Sentenced'' up until they disbanded in 2005. Firstly, he was only a session member on gigs, but after that he joined the band officially. In addition to playing the bass guitar, he was also the back-up vocalist. Kukkohovi has been the guitar player for the hard rock band Solution 13 during his time with Sentenced. On live shows of the Doom metal band KYPCK, the crew is strengthened by Sami Kukkohovi, playing the second guitar. Currently Kukkohovi is playing with his new band Fiasco General. Sami Lopakka
Sami Lopakka is a Finnish guitarist and author. He was one of two guitarists for the metal band Sentenced until it disbanded (1989–2005). He was the band's main lyricist and was also considered to be the spokesman for the band. Since 2007, Lopakka has been the guitarist and main songwriter for the Russian-singing Finnish metal band KYPCK, with whom he plays a custom baritone guitar built around a Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle by Amfisound Guitars. As an author, Lopakka's debut novel ''Marras'' was published in January 2014 by Like Kustannus Oy in Finland.
