Ilyas Labeeb (Dhivehi: އިލްޔާސް ލަބީބް) is a Maldivian politician and member of parliament. Early life Ilyas Labeeb was born in Hulhudhoo on the 29th of June 1979. Political Career Ilyas was nominated as The Democrats' candidate for the 2023 Maldivian presidential election Presidential elections were held in the Maldives on Saturday, 9 September 2023, with a second round held on 30 September. The People's Majlis ( dv, ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލިސް; ''Rayyithunge Majilis'') is the unicameral legislative body of Maldives. The Majlis has the authority to enact, amend and revise laws, as outlined in the Constitution of the Maldives. The Majlis is composed of 87 members as of 2019. Each year on the last Thursday of February, the Majlis is opened by the President of the Maldives. During the opening ceremony, the president outlines his policies and achievements in his presidential term. The annual budget of the state is also passed by the Majlis. Mohamed Shahid
Mohammed Shahid (14 April 1960 – 20 July 2016) was an Indian field hockey player. He is considered one of India's best to have played the game and was known for his dribbling skills. He was a member of the Indian team that won the gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. He was awarded Arjuna Award in 1980–1981 and Padma Shri in 1986. Hulhudhoo (Addu)
Hulhumeedhoo (Dhivehi: ހުޅުމީދޫ) or Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo is an island located on the northeastern point of Addu City. It is the fifth largest island in the Maldives. Although Hulhumeedhoo is geographically one island, it is divided into two administrative constituencies of Addu City, known as Meedhoo and Hulhudhoo, which are roughly the northern half and southern half of Hulhumeedhoo respectively. The name "Hulhumeedhoo" is an amalgamation of the names Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo.
