Ilona Berecz
Ilona Berecz (born 16 December 1947) is a Hungarian ice dancing coach and former competitor. With István Sugár, she is a two-time Hungarian national champion and the 1968 Blue Swords bronze medalist. They finished in the top ten at three European Championships. Personal life Berecz was born 16 December 1947 in Budapest, Hungary. She married Hungarian ice hockey player Mátyás Vedres. Career Berecz switched from singles to ice dancing when she was sixteen years old. She competed in partnership with István Sugár. The duo finished in the top ten at the 1969 European Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany; 1970 European Championships in Leningrad, Soviet Union; and 1971 European Championships in Zürich, Switzerland. Klára Engi (born November 1, 1967) is a retired Hungarian ice dancer. She competed with Attila Tóth. Together, they placed 16th at the 1984 Winter Olympics, 7th at the 1988 Winter Olympics, and 7th at the 1992 Winter Olympics. International Skating Union
The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It was founded in Scheveningen, Netherlands, in July 1892, making it one of the oldest international sport federations. Prague Skate
The Prague Skate (sometimes titled Golden Skate; from 1994: Czech Skate) is an international figure skating competition. It was a senior event from the 1960s to 1997, usually held in November or December in Prague. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and pair skating. Blue Swords
Blue Swords (german: Pokal der Blauen Schwerter) is an international figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union. It is usually held in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Champions of the event win the "Blue Swords Trophy". History Blue Swords began as a senior international competition in East Germany, and was held annually between 1961 and 1998. In 1985, it became a junior-level event. Since 1997, it is chosen in some years by the International Skating Union to be part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit. These are the only years when the event is still held.
