Illusion Travels By Streetcar
''La ilusión viaja en tranvía'' (English: ''Illusion Travels by Streetcar'') is a 1954 Mexican film, written by Luis Alcoriza and directed by Luis Buñuel. Plot Two Mexican tram drivers are devastated that their favourite tram will be taken out of service. The pair decide to take it for "one last spin" but end up driving it around Mexico City for a day and a night. Luis Buñuel
Luis Buñuel Portolés (; 22 February 1900 – 29 July 1983) was a Spanish-Mexican filmmaker who worked in France, Mexico, and Spain. He has been widely considered by many film critics, historians, and directors to be one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. When Buñuel died at age 83, his obituary in ''The New York Times'' called him "an iconoclast, moralist, and revolutionary who was a leader of avant-garde surrealism in his youth and a dominant international movie director half a century later". Conchita Gentil Arcos (1897 – 23 December 1982) was a Mexican actress of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema as a character actress in supporting roles. She was the sister of María Gentil Arcos, also an actress in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema; Conchita began her work as an actress in 1932, while María did not start her career until 1938. Luis Alcoriza de la Vega (September 5, 1918 – December 3, 1992) was a respected Mexican screenwriter, film director, and actor. Alcoriza was born in Spain and, exiled because of the Spanish Civil War, established himself in Mexico from 1940.
