Ili (actress)
Ili Cheng (; born Cheng Chia-chen, ; 31 August 1993), nicknamed Jipai Mei (; ), is a Taiwanese internet celebrity and model, who has appeared in television programmes, feature films, videos and a music EP. She came to fame in January 2012 when her promotional video for a fried chicken cutlet restaurant went viral. Thereafter she became an internet celebrity. Early life Her parents divorced when she was seven. Her father, being much richer than her mother, gained custody of her and her younger brother, but they did not live with their father. Instead, they lived together with his father's ex-wife and four older half-siblings on his father's side. Her mother died of stomach cancer when she was 17. She changed her name to Cheng Chia-chun (鄭家純) in 2013. Career She started working as a part-time model in mid-July 2011. Banqiao District
Banqiao District () is a district and the seat of New Taipei City, Taiwan. It has the third-highest population density in Taiwan, with over . Until the creation of New Taipei City, Banqiao (then transliterated as Banciao or Pan-ch'iao) was an incorporated county-administered city and the former seat of Taipei County. Name origin The district's old name was ''Pang-kio'' (), which dates back to the Qing Dynasty during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1735 - 1796 AD). A wooden bridge, locally called ''Pang-kio-thau'' (枋橋頭), was built for pedestrians to cross a brook located in the west of today's Banqiao, the modern day Nanzigou (湳仔溝, literally "Nanzi Creek"). The spellings ''Pankyu'', ''Pankio'', and ''Pankyo'' can be found in English-language works of the early 20th century. In 1920, the Japanese government modified the name to . Democratic development in Hong Kong has been a major issue since its transfer of sovereignty to the People's Republic of China in 1997. The one country, two systems principle allows Hong Kong to enjoy high autonomy in all areas besides foreign relations and defence, which are responsibilities of the central government. Hong Kong's Basic Law, also adopted after the 1997 handover, allowed residents to vote for local district councillors and directly elect about half of the region's legislators at the time. Many Hongkongers became concerned, however, after the first Chief Executive, Tung Chee-hwa, appeared to have mishandled this issue, while human rights and universal suffrage have also become focal points for the pro-democracy camp. Historically, Hong Kong has never been an electoral democracy.
