Ilham Mehdiyev
Ilham Ismayil oghlu Mehdiyev ( az, İlham İsmayıl oğlu Mehdiyev; born 1965) is an Azerbaijani military officer, lieutenant general, and the deputy head of the Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS). He was previously also the head of the Azerbaijani Coast Guard branch of the State Border Service (SBS). Mehdiyev commanded the Azerbaijani SBS during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and received the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War. Life and service Ilham Ismayil oglu Mehdiyev was born on 2 August 1965, in the Hanifa village of the Balakan District in Azerbaijan SSR, then Soviet Union. He is married and has three children. He completed his military studies in the Odessa Artillery Commanders School in years 1983-1987. Hero Of The Patriotic War
The Hero of the Patriotic War ( az, Vətən Müharibəsi Qəhrəmanı) is the highest title in Azerbaijan. The title was created by the law "Regulations on the title of "Hero of the Patriotic War" of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated 26 November 2020 and the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev dated 1 December 2020. It was established on the occasion of Azerbaijan being the victor in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. Its recipient is also awarded with the Hero of the Patriotic War Medal. The title of Hero of the Patriotic War is conferred by the President of Azerbaijan on his own initiative, or on the proposal of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service, the State Security Service, and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Azerbaijan. History The official newspaper of the ADR government "Azerbaijan" was established in 1918. The government by its order of 3 July 1918, decided on the launch of the publication "the News of Azerbaijani Republic" under its official authority. Zangilan District
Zangilan District ( az, Zəngilan rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-west of the country and belongs to the East Zangezur Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Qubadli, Jabrayil, the Syunik Province of Armenia and the East Azerbaijan Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Zangilan.
